Verses 1–3

By the clear light of mid-morning, and by the night when darkness has fully fallen: just as day and night are bound by the laws of an order and follow one another flawlessly, so too the verses being revealed to you are sent down one after another according to an appointed order. O Prophet! Do not let the fact that Our verses have not reached you for a while puzzle you and make you anxious. Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor is He displeased with you.

Verses 6–10

When you were an orphan, your Lord gave you shelter; when you were in need, He gave you the means to meet your needs; and when you were bewildered, not knowing how you should live, He guided you to the right path. So never look down on orphans or treat them harshly! Take the one in need under your care, and do not scold the one who asks for help.

Verse 11

Do not forget that the true Owner of all that He has created, and the One who takes them under His care, is their Lord, Allah; and invite people to live by the system of life that is the reason for their creation.

Convey the blessings of your Lord, remembering them with gratitude and thankfulness!
