اَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِاَصْحَابِ الْف۪يلِۜ ١ اَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ ف۪ي تَضْل۪يلٍۙ ٢ وَاَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا اَبَاب۪يلَۙ ٣ تَرْم۪يهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجّ۪يلٍۖۙ ٤ فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَاْكُولٍ ٥
Mushaf
Transliteration
1Elem tera keyfe feʿale rabbüke biaṣḥâbi-lfîl.
2Elem yecʿal keydehüm fî taḍlîl.
3Veersele ʿaleyhim ṭayran ebâbîl.
4Termîhim biḥicâratim min siccîl.
5Feceʿalehüm keʿaṣfim meʾkûl.
English Translation
1Do you not know what your Lord did to the army of the elephant that came to destroy (the Kaaba)?
2Did He not bring the traps they set down upon their own heads?
3(3-4) Did He not send against them flocks of birds that pelted them with stones of baked clay?
4(3-4) Did He not send against them flocks of birds that pelted them with stones of baked clay?
5And in the end, did He not turn them, as it were, into eaten-up leaves of crops?
